Two ways to get the look

The first is sizing down. Taking one size below your usual pulls the relaxed cut closer to the body and shortens the hem, which gets you most of the way to a baby tee shape. The second is knotting: because the body is knit as a tube with no side seams, a side or front knot lies flat instead of bunching into a lump the way a seamed shirt does.

Why no side seams matters here

This is the practical advantage of tubular construction. Cropping, knotting and tucking all depend on the fabric moving freely around the body, and a side seam fights that. It is also why a knotted 1717 holds its shape through a day rather than working loose.

Fabric that suits a shorter shape

At 6.1 oz the cotton has enough structure to hold a crop line without curling or clinging, which is the usual failure of a lightweight cropped tee. It sits away from the body and keeps a clean edge.

Frequently asked questions

Are these pre-cropped?

No. The relaxed 1717 blank is styled cropped by sizing down or knotting the hem, which keeps the finished edge intact.

How do I get a baby tee fit?

Size down one from your usual, or two for a properly fitted look.

Will a knot come loose?

Not easily. The heavier cotton holds a knot far better than a thin jersey.

Can I cut the hem myself?

You can, and the tubular knit means a raw cut edge rolls slightly rather than fraying badly. It is permanent, so measure twice.

What lengths are the sizes?

26.62 in at S up to 33.5 in at 4XL, roughly an inch per size step.
