Four otters, four moods

The beanie otter is the one that started it, drawn straight and photoreal with a knitted hat. The USA version swaps the hat for stars and stripes. The gentleman otter is dressed for something formal it clearly did not agree to. The iced coffee otter is holding a cup and is not sharing. Same animal, four different jokes.

The whole family, same otter

Most of these designs run across five product types: men's and women's tees, youth, toddler and baby bodysuit. That means a matching set actually exists rather than being something you assemble from near misses. The beanie and gentleman otters also come as long sleeves for colder months.

What they are printed on

The short-sleeve shirts are Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz per square yard, garment-dyed, tubular knit so there are no side seams. The greyscale fur detail holds up best on mid-tone shirts like grey, bay and khaki. On black a white underbase goes down first, which keeps the otter from disappearing into the shirt.

Which otter design should I pick?

If you want the classic, the beanie otter. If you want something that reads across a room, the USA beanie. The gentleman otter suits people who like a joke that takes a second, and the iced coffee otter is the obvious gift for a coffee drinker.

Can we get matching shirts for the whole family?

Yes, for most designs. Adult, youth, toddler and baby versions of the same otter are listed separately, so everyone picks their own size and shirt colour.

Which sizes are available?

Adult shirts run S to 4XL, youth S to XL, toddler 2T to 5T and bodysuits NB to 24M. Flat measurements are in our Size Guide.

Which shirt colour shows the otter best?

Grey, bay and khaki. The fur is drawn in greyscale, so mid-tones give it the most contrast. White works too but flattens the lighter fur slightly.

Are long sleeves available?

For the beanie, gentleman and iced coffee otters, yes. Those are a different blank and run to 3XL rather than 4XL.

Will the print crack?

Not if you wash it cold and dry it low. What actually helps is written up in How to Wash Graphic Tees.
