2T to 5T, and what that means

Toddler sizing runs by age with a T after the number: 2T fits most two-year-olds, 5T most five-year-olds. It is cut differently from youth sizing, with a wider neck opening and a shorter body relative to the width. If your child is between sizes, go up. Toddlers grow in bursts and a shirt bought tight lasts a season.

Designs that read well at a small size

Bold shapes and high contrast carry further on a small chest than fine detail does. A design that reads well at full adult scale can turn muddy when it is reduced, so the artwork here leans on clear linework rather than intricate background detail.

What is the difference between 5T and youth S?

5T is cut for a toddler body: shorter, wider, roomier neck. Youth S is longer and narrower. A tall four-year-old is often more comfortable in 5T than in youth S.

Do these shrink?

Cotton moves a little in the first wash. Wash cold and dry low and the change is small enough not to matter across a size.

Can I get the same print for a baby?

Is the print soft or does it sit on top?

It is printed directly into the fabric rather than pressed on as a layer, so there is no stiff panel on the chest.

How should I wash them?

Cold wash, inside out, tumble dry low. No bleach, and keep the iron off the print.

How long before it arrives?
