All measurements below are garment dimensions in inches, not body measurements. The easiest way to use them is to take a shirt you already own and like, lay it flat, measure it, and compare.

We print on different blanks depending on the product, so the sizes and the way each garment is measured are not identical. Use the table for the product you are buying.

Width is measured across the front, one inch below the armhole. Length runs from the highest point of the shoulder to the bottom of the leg opening, and sleeve from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve.

How to measure

Lay the garment flat on a hard surface and smooth out any wrinkles before you measure. Two of the measurements are taken differently depending on the product, so check the note under the table you are using.

Width. On adult tees and long sleeves, measure straight across from armpit to armpit. On youth, toddler and baby styles, measure across the front one inch below the armhole.

Length. Measure from the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the bottom hem. On baby bodysuits, measure to the bottom of the leg opening instead.

Sleeve. On adult tees and long sleeves, measure from the center back of the neck to the end of the sleeve. On baby bodysuits, measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve. Youth and toddler tees do not have a published sleeve measurement.

A tolerance applies where noted under a table, which means an individual garment may differ slightly from the figures listed.

Between sizes?

Compare the width first. It is the measurement you notice most when a shirt is on, and it is the one that decides whether something feels roomy or close.

On adult tees the fit is relaxed to begin with, so size up if you want it roomier and size down if you want it closer to the body. If you are between two sizes and want the standard look, the larger size is the safer choice on a heavyweight garment.
