The 1717, specifically

6.1 oz per square yard, 100% ring-spun US cotton, garment-dyed after construction, knit as a tube so there are no side seams, double-needle stitched on every seam, sewn-in label. Short sleeve sizes run S to 4XL. The long sleeve styles in this collection use the Comfort Colors 6014, which shares the same 6.1 oz garment-dyed cotton and runs S to 3XL.

Why garment dyeing changes the shirt

Dyeing a finished garment rather than the yarn does two things. It softens the cotton during production, so the tee arrives already broken in, and it produces slight tonal variation across the fabric that reads as vintage rather than as a defect. It is also why these colours fade gracefully instead of going patchy.

Fit and care

The 1717 cut is relaxed: take your usual size for an everyday fit, or size up for a roomier look. The 6014 long sleeve is a classic unisex fit. Wash cold at 30C or below, do not bleach, tumble dry on low, iron on low and avoid dry cleaning. Treated that way, both cotton and print last for years.
