The two things that matter in a kids tee

It has to be soft enough that it actually gets worn, and it has to survive being washed constantly. Combed, ring-spun cotton handles the first, because the yarn is spun smoother than standard cotton and does not feel scratchy at the neck. Direct-to-garment printing handles the second: the ink cures into the fibre rather than sitting as a plastic film, so it does not peel off in sheets.

Why prints crack, and how to stop it

Cracking is almost always heat damage from a hot wash or a hot dryer. Wash cold, inside out, tumble dry low, and skip the iron over the print itself. Done that way a design lasts through the years it takes a child to grow out of the shirt.

Sizing for growth

Kids get taller before they get wider, so the usual advice is to buy the size that fits now rather than the one they will grow into. Youth runs S to XL, toddler 2T to 5T, and baby bodysuits from NB to 24M. The measurements for each are on the size guide.

Frequently asked questions

Will the print crack after a few washes?

Not if you wash cold and dry low. Cracking is heat damage, not wear.

Is the cotton soft enough for sensitive skin?

Combed, ring-spun cotton is spun smoother than standard cotton, which makes it noticeably softer at the neck and shoulders.

Should I size up so it lasts longer?

For youth and toddler shirts, buy the size that fits now. For baby bodysuits, sizing up is often the safer buy, since NB is outgrown quickly.

What sizes are available?

Youth S to XL, toddler 2T to 5T, and baby bodysuits from NB (0-3M) to 24M.

Can I tumble dry them?

On low heat only. High heat is what damages both the cotton and the print.
