Why weight matters in a white tee

Thin white cotton can look see-through. Our adult tees use a heavyweight 6.1 oz cotton that stays opaque in daylight. Youth, toddler and baby styles use lighter fabrics made for everyday comfort, which is normal for children's clothing. Alongside white, adult styles come in Ivory, and youth and toddler tees in Natural and Heather Stone.

Why prints look sharpest on white

Direct-to-garment ink is layered onto the fabric, and on a white base there is no under-colour shifting the result. Reds stay red, gradients keep their range and fine linework holds. On darker shirts the same design needs an underbase, which softens edges slightly. If a design has detail worth seeing, white shows it best.

Keeping white white

Wash cold and separately from anything that bleeds, and skip the bleach, which yellows cotton over time rather than brightening it. Turning the tee inside out protects the print, and drying on low avoids setting any marks. Treated this way a white tee holds its tone far longer.

Frequently asked questions

Is a white graphic tee see-through?

The adult tees are heavyweight 6.1 oz cotton and stay opaque. Kids and baby styles are lighter, as children's tees usually are.

Can I bleach a white graphic tee?

No. Bleach damages the fibre and the print, and yellows cotton over time. Wash cold with a normal detergent instead.

Do prints look better on white?

Generally yes. Colours print truest and fine detail stays sharpest without an underbase.

How do I stop it going grey?

Wash separately from dark colours, use cold water and avoid overloading the machine.

Do you have off-white or ivory options?

Yes. Depending on the design, adult styles come in Ivory, and youth and toddler tees in Natural or Heather Stone. Off-white tones suit retro artwork well, since bright white can make a faded design look freshly printed.
